RESURRECTION: New Album Update

February 21, 2008

Tampa death metallers and former Nuclear Blast recording artists RESURRECTION, who had moderate success with their debut album "Embalmed Existence" (1993),have issued the following update:

"Recording the new long awaited album 'Mistaken for Dead' has begun. Drum tracking is taking place at Beiler Bros. Studios in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida with veteran Matt Laplant (NON-POINT, SIKTH) engineering. The drum tracks will be finished this weekend and the remaining production will be handled as planned with guitar legend turned producer James Murphy starting next week. The album will be finished by the end of March and released via Massacre Records."

Commented drummer Gus Rios (MALEVOLENT CREATION, KULT OV AZAZEL): "The new album is definitely a critical follow-up to the classic 'Embalmed' album, especially after being dormant for some years. Once you hear the sick riffing, drumming and playing on this album you'll agree that it is another masterpiece in the making, yet is staying true to the old-school Florida style, only better. My playing on this record is fast, agressive, and well matched to the overall style of RESURRECTION. We are all stoked at how well the songs have come together and are very excited to get this record out. This record will for sure put Florida death metal back on the international metal map."

"Mistaken for Dead" is scheduled for release in Germany on May 9 via Massacre Records. The track listing for the CD is as follows:

01. Buried Alive
02. Unholy
03. A Thirst For Flesh
04. Coward
05. X-ile
06. The Deciever
07. Ritual Slaughter
08. Death By Desire
09. Perils of Burden

RESURRECTION has been confirmed for the 2008 edition of the Death Feast Open Air festival, set to take place June 12-14, 2008 in Hünxe, Germany. This festival will either start or end a RESURRECTION three-week European tour that will be announced at a later time.
